1. Retention principles
We keep identifiable information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, protect users, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention may be extended for a legal hold, security investigation, payment dispute, or statutory requirement.
2. Project data and private documents
- Active projects, drawings, uploaded documents, revisions, comments, and exports are retained while your account remains active so you can continue the project.
- Archiving a project hides it from active work but does not delete its records or source files.
- Deleting your account removes account-owned project files from primary storage and deletes associated application records, subject to billing, legal-hold, and backup exceptions.
- You may contact support to request deletion of a particular private source document when deletion is compatible with the project, audit, and legal requirements.
3. Temporary intake files
An uploaded starter document that is not attached to a project expires after 24 hours. The scheduled pruning process deletes the expired intake record and its private file. When the intake is attached, the temporary copy is removed and the project copy follows the project retention period.
4. Account, billing, and support records
- Account profile and workspace membership records are retained while the account is active and removed when the account is deleted, subject to exceptions below.
- Payment, invoice, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction records may be retained for up to seven years or longer when required by law.
- Support communications are normally retained for up to three years after the issue is closed so we can document resolutions and recurring problems.
5. Logs and security records
Routine application, access, and error logs are normally retained for up to 90 days. Security, fraud, incident, and audit records may be kept longer when needed to investigate an event or meet a legal obligation.
6. Backups
Encrypted operational backups may retain deleted information for up to 35 days before normal rotation removes it. Backup copies are isolated from ordinary use and restored only for disaster recovery, security, or legal requirements.
7. Municipality research and aggregated data
Official municipality sources, citations, reusable requirement profiles, and verification records are public-reference or product data rather than private project documents. We may retain them while useful for source history, safety, and updates. We may also retain statistics that have been aggregated or de-identified so they no longer identify a user or property owner.
8. Deletion requests
Delete your account in profile settings or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. We will explain any information that cannot be deleted immediately because of payment records, security, legal holds, or mandatory law.
